We have a lot to be thankful here at Skagit Organics. As we get closer to Thanksgiving we will be saying thank you to many of the people and companies that support us and our mission of providing clean consistent cannabis products. We obviously need the people to walk into a retail store and purchase our products to succeed, but we also need strong partnerships with the companies that grow the wonderful cannabis we use to create our products. Legalization of cannabis here in Washington is a great thing, even with all the regulations and ridiculousness of all the laws and regulations hanging over our industry.
As people stepped out from the shadows to create legitimate businesses there is something that seems to have been forgotten in the cannabis community, and it is just that…community. As this industry develops we have the rare opportunity of doing business differently. We should not resort to the cut-throat tactics often seen in business. While not every business is going to survive, we don’t believe people should be playing an active role in another company’s demise. We would make the argument that forming solid relationships with other people and companies will always be more beneficial than working against someone. We have worked hard to bring a sense of community and family to the way we do business and this is one of the main reasons we are still here today, delivering the exceptional products you have come to love.
We are thankful to have found people in this industry that value the same things we do. We have formed incredible partnerships with other producers and processors, companies competing directly with our products. Many of the growers that supply us with cannabis or bring their material to us for extraction choose us over other companies because they trust us to create products with as much care as they put into growing their plants. Our retail partners that continue to support us month after month know they will always get a clean consistent cannabis product, allowing them to serve their customers in the best way possible. We have used the same tracking company since the very first day of operations and have become friends with the delivery drivers that get our products where they need to go. We have met many of our customers face to face and assisted many individual patients with specific oils and products. We are also thankful for the employees that come in every day and happily package products with such efficiency and care. The same five people have formed the core of our workforce for since our first year in business because we have built a community within our company where they feel valued and connected to their jobs, beyond a paycheck. This community, within the walls of our business and the boarder of our state, is what we are most thankful for.
